My Classroom Teaching Experience
Classroom experience is essential for being an effective tutor, and I’ve been teaching full-time since 1999. Over the years, I’ve held a variety of roles within science and physics departments, including serving as Head of Physics with responsibility for exam preparation, curriculum planning, and student performance. This leadership experience has deepened my understanding of what examiners look for and how to guide students toward success. Most recently, I’ve been teaching in the independent sector, where I’ve been able to deliver highly focused, rigorous Physics education. As a dedicated A Level Physics tutor, I draw on this extensive background to deliver clear, targeted, and results-driven tuition tailored to each student’s needs.

My Tutoring Experience
With over two decades of full-time teaching experience, I bring the depth and insight that only a seasoned educator can offer. Since 1999, I’ve taught Physics across a range of schools, holding key positions including Head of Physics, where I oversaw exam preparation and student progress. My Qualifications
I’m a fully qualified A Level Physics tutor with over two decades of experience and a strong academic foundation. I hold a BSc in Physics and an MSc in Surface Science from Loughborough University, along with a PGCE in Secondary Science from the University of Sheffield. I gained Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in 2000. In today’s tutoring landscape, it’s increasingly rare to find a tutor who combines formal teaching credentials with subject-specialist knowledge—something I bring to every lesson.
Having taught in a wide range of school settings, I’ve worked with students from all backgrounds and ability levels. This experience enables me to understand and respond to a variety of student mindsets—whether they’re lacking confidence, struggling to grasp abstract concepts, or aiming for top grades.
I also have in-depth knowledge of the A Level Physics curriculum and stay up to date with changes across all major UK exam boards, including AQA, OCR, Edexcel (inc. Pearson International), and Cambridge International. This allows me to tailor lessons precisely to each specification, focusing on the exact content and skills examiners are looking for. From exam technique to understanding command words, I ensure my students are thoroughly prepared for the assessments they’ll face.
